What people are saying about Lance Brown for President:

"I've been reading some of the political content at freedom2008.com, and find it damn interesting.
"I am nominally a Democrat, but have never been seriously politically active, mainly because I'm fed up with a lot of what the major parties say and do. ...you could say I'm looking for an intelligent alternative.
"I'm not ready to declare myself a Libertarian, but your site piques me and makes me think. And that's (at least) half the battle.

"I just want to take a minute to tell you that we really do appreciate your writing over here. I find the state of this country so outrageous that I mostly sit around pulling my hair out and fantasizing about Canada. But, incredibly, you don't stew! It's like you're on a whole other plane.
"It's so easy to lose sight of reality with all that glare from the fancy magic show illusions of our 'two' party system. Seriously. Your message is hopeful and real."

Unless You Are Free (Quote)

"There comes a time when the operation of the machine is so odious that you cannot even tacitly participate. You've got to place your bodies on the gears, the wheels, all the mechanism, and you've got to indicate to those who own it, and those who run it, that unless you are free, the machine will be prevented from working at all."

--adapted by Utah Phillips from Mario Savio's famous speech.

so my boyfriend is a college student and so he can pay his car payment he works at Game Crazy. it is hollywood video's version of a video game store. it is a boring job. he does the work of a shift leader and doesn't get paid for the position. his boss said he is not promoting my boyfriend because he does not sell a large enough quantity of the discount card. the discount card by the way costs about twice as much as comparable chain stores' cards. i tell him it is a minimum wage job and he can get another one. perhaps he should not waste his experience or dedication on a company that doesn't care about him, there are many more soulless corporations he could go to, but he stays and i find it perplexing. i think it would be good to wear down the gears of the place a bit by quitting and making them have to expend effort looking for the next young person to exploit.
